The Accounting and Tax Applications program, which is under the umbrella of Gedik Vocational School, was established in the 2011-2012 academic year. The program’s medium of instruction is Turkish. Students who successfully complete 120 ECTS credits of mandatory and elective courses over 4 semesters and fulfill their internship requirements graduate from the program.
To enhance students’ success in their professional careers, those who excel in the Computerized Accounting courses taken during the second semester are awarded the “Eta Training Certificate” and the “Mikro Expertise Certificate” free of charge.
Students wishing to continue their education can transfer to four-year undergraduate programs at various universities based on their scores in the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) conducted by ÖSYM and the availability of quotas. Additionally, those who complete a four-year degree at a faculty and meet other legal requirements have the opportunity to obtain the title of Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Educational Objectives:
- To train qualified personnel for accounting and finance departments in businesses, as well as for accounting or consultancy firms operating in the accounting and tax fields.
- To instill the importance of lifelong learning, encouraging professional development through undergraduate education or professional certificates.
- To enable students to interpret and evaluate data using basic knowledge and skills in accounting, identify and analyze problems, and develop solutions.
- To ensure students recognize accounting documents, prepare accounting records, draft financial statements, follow relevant legislation, use software programs in their field, interpret tax practices, analyze financial structures, and use financial values in decision-making.
- To cultivate creative, entrepreneurial, and socially responsible graduates who are aware of their professional and social responsibilities and respectful of societal values.

The objectives of the Accounting and Tax Applications program are as follows:
- To teach financial accounting concepts and apply midterm and end-of-term accounting operations both theoretically and practically.
- To understand the fundamental concepts, objectives, and relationships between the functions of a business and their connections with the environment, while developing communication skills.
- To recognize the Turkish legal system and commercial legislation applicable to businesses.
- To identify and use documents commonly employed in commercial life.
- To master the fundamental principles and concepts of economics.
- To process social security operations and calculate taxes, process accounting documents, and prepare tax declarations.
- To grasp costing and financial concepts, analyze financial statements, organize and interpret these analyses in a computerized environment.
- To perform calculations in the professional and commercial field.
- To learn and use accounting programs in a computerized environment with practical skills.
- To acquire knowledge about obtaining and processing numerical data.
Additionally, the program aims to train individuals who are respectful of historical and societal values, socially responsible, equipped with a strong sense of professional ethics, dedicated to lifelong learning, capable of following developments in science and technology, conscious of occupational safety, worker health, and environmental protection, and who gain hands-on skills by observing professional practices in the production and service sectors.
