Dear students,
The banking and insurance sectors, which are the main financial service areas, have always held significant importance in the Turkish economy in terms of value creation, service and product diversity, and employment opportunities. According to official reports, as of 2020, the number of people employed in the financial sector, where domestic and foreign actors operate, has exceeded 400,000. Moreover, the finance sector has been one of the fastest to adapt to the accelerating digital transformation since the 2000s. It has once again proven to be a sector that can rapidly adjust to changing conditions, especially since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. Looking at the conditions of the pandemic and climate crisis that have been threatening our country, as well as the rest of the world, it is expected that the importance of the finance sector, especially insurance and banking, will continue to be preserved and even increase in the coming decades.
As a university continuing its academic activities in the financial center, Istanbul, we, as the Banking and Insurance Program, value the ability to adapt to the transformations of the century we are in. We welcome our esteemed students who aim to gain expertise in monetary and capital markets and acquire sufficient knowledge and skills regarding regulations.
