BRIGHT FUTURE PROJECT FOR A CLEAN ENVIRONMENT” REALIZED BY THE MEDICAL DOCUMENTATION AND SECRETARIAL PROGRAM
As part of the Social Responsibility Projects course, our students Furkan ÇELİK, Mehmet Can KASIMLARLI, and Sultan KEKLİK, under the guidance of Lecturer Elvan DÜRBİN GÜMÜŞ, carried out the project called “One Book, One Child” in collaboration with various institutions and schools for 10 weeks.
Within the scope of the project:
They provided information about environmental cleanliness and recycling to students in various schools. They organized a visit to the recycling facility of Pendik Municipality to inform our peers about recycling on-site, creating awareness about how recycling is done, and providing valuable information.
They created a table from various waste materials for the purpose of “Drawing Attention to Environmental Pollution and Recycling of Waste.” This table was exhibited at the entrance of the Vocational School.
They had a group picnic followed by environmental cleaning activities to raise awareness about the environment.
As a group, they informed people about recycling in buildings and neighborhoods, raising awareness about the environment and encouraging them to contribute to recycling.
During the time period celebrated as World Environment Day on June 5th globally and as Turkey Environment Week in our country, they collaborated with Pendik Municipality to carry out activities and awareness campaigns for environmental cleanliness.
In collaboration with the Turkish Spinal Cord Paralytics Association, they collected waste plastic bottle caps causing environmental pollution, contributing to the acquisition of medical equipment such as medical supplies and wheelchairs for disabled individuals. The Turkish Spinal Cord Paralytics Association was presented with a thank-you certificate on behalf of our university.

Within the scope of the Social Responsibility Projects course, our students Umutcan ARMUTOĞLU, under the guidance of Lecturer Elvan DÜRBİN GÜMÜŞ, carried out the project called “One Book, One Child” in collaboration with municipalities and private enterprises for 10 weeks.
Within the Project:
In many neighborhoods on the Anatolian side, they provided food for stray animals with the help of donated pet food and leftover meals, aiming to eliminate biases against street animals among children and adults, and to raise awareness about street animals. Various activities were carried out for this purpose.

Within the Project:
Various activities were organized in collaboration with the Pendik Barrier-Free Life Center for 10 weeks to help children with special needs to become aware of their individual skills, encourage them to communicate in social environments, and create environments where they can showcase their creativity.
