WORKSHOP
- “Paper Flower”
The “Paper Flower Workshop,” organized by the Architecture and Environmental Design Club, was held.
As part of the Istanbul Gedik University Student Club introduction days, a workshop titled “Paper Flower” was organized on Wednesday, October 23, 2019, from 10:00 to 16:00. The workshop took place at the Kartal Campus and was guided by Lecturer Özlem Öğüt, with the participation of numerous students.
Workshop
- “From Debris to Sculpture”The Architecture and Environmental Design Club organized a workshop titled “From Debris to Sculpture.”
On Tuesday, May 14, 2019, from 10:00 to 17:00, a workshop on “From Debris to Sculpture” was held with the collective participation of Istanbul Gedik University students. The workshop took place in an abandoned area within the Kartal Campus. Students were tasked with creating sculpture designs using recyclable waste materials found in the area. The workshop was guided by esteemed instructors and saw the participation of numerous students.
Conference
- “The Place of Mimar Sinan in 16th Century Turkish Architecture”
As part of the “Mimar Sinan Week Activities,” a conference titled “The Place of Mimar Sinan in 16th Century Turkish Architecture” was held.
Organized jointly by the Departments of Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Environmental Design, within the scope of the “Mimar Sinan Week Activities,” the conference took place on Monday, April 9, 2018, from 11:00 to 12:00. The esteemed Prof. Dr. Filiz ÖZER delivered the conference in the Conference Hall, located on the 1st floor of Block B. The conference witnessed the participation of numerous guest faculty members and students.
At the conclusion of the conference, Prof. Dr. H. Şaduman OKUMUŞ, Prof. Dr. Adnan ŞİŞMAN, the Deputy Rectors, and Prof. Dr. Feride ÖNAL, the Vice Dean and Head of the Department of Architecture of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Architecture, expressed their gratitude to Prof. Dr. Filiz ÖZER for her valuable contribution and presented her with a plaque on behalf of the university.

“The Architect’s Perspective on Public Space”
- As part of the events organized by the Department of Architecture, a conference titled “The Architect’s Perspective on Public Space” was held.
On Friday, November 23, 2018, from 11:00 to 12:30, the conference on “The Architect’s Perspective on Public Space” was delivered by Asst. Prof. Ercan KOÇ in Room 503 on the 5th floor of Block D within the Department of Architecture. The conference saw the participation of numerous guest faculty members and students.
At the conclusion of the conference, Prof. Dr. Feride ÖNAL, the Head of the Department of Architecture and Vice Dean, expressed gratitude to Asst. Prof. Ercan KOÇ for his participation and contribution and presented him with a plaque on behalf of the university.
Music Recital
- As part of the “Mimar Sinan Week Activities” a Music Recital was held.
Organized jointly by the Departments of Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Environmental Design, within the scope of the “Mimar Sinan Week Activities,” the music recital took place on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, from 12:00 to 14:00. The recital was arranged by Elif SULUOVA, Mert KALECİK, Çağlar DENİZ, and Ahmet KIRIŞ and was held in the winter garden located at the Kartal Campus. Our students, as well as the academic and administrative staff of our school, showed great interest in the enjoyable music recital.
At the end of the recital, Prof. Dr. Feride ÖNAL, the Head of the Department of Architecture and Vice Dean, Prof. Dr. Filiz ÖZER, and Prof. Dr. Ayşe Nuran YENER expressed their gratitude to Elif SULUOVA, Mert KALECİK, Çağlar DENİZ, and Ahmet KIRIŞ for their participation and presented them with certificates of appreciation on behalf of the university.

Seminar
- “University Campus Systems”
A seminar titled “University Campus Systems” was organized by the Department of Architecture.
On Thursday, February 21, 2019, from 14:00 to 15:00, the seminar on “University Campus Systems” took place in Room 503 of Block D, with the participation of students from the Department of Architecture. Asst. Prof. Begüm ERÇEVİK SÖNMEZ conducted a presentation on the subject for the students. She discussed the development and layout of university campus systems and highlighted important aspects that students should pay attention to, using examples to illustrate her points. After the presentation, Asst. Prof. Begüm ERÇEVİK SÖNMEZ answered various questions from the students. The seminar was attended by numerous students.

- “Presentation Techniques in Computer Environment”
As part of the extracurricular activities of the Department of Architecture, a seminar titled “Presentation Techniques in Computer Environment” was held.
On Tuesday, May 8, 2018, from 13:00 to 14:00, the seminar on “Presentation Techniques in Computer Environment” took place in the Doctorate Room of Block D, with the participation of students from the Department of Architecture. Lecturer Burak UZUN conducted a presentation on the subject for the students. He explained how students can effectively express their projects in a computer environment, using examples to demonstrate important techniques and tips they should utilize. After the presentation, Lecturer Burak UZUN answered various questions from the students. The seminar was attended by numerous students.

- “Architecture and Competitions”
As part of the “Mimar Sinan Week Activities,” a talk titled “Architecture and Competitions” was held.
Organized jointly by the Departments of Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Environmental Design, within the scope of the “Mimar Sinan Week Activities,” the talk took place on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, from 11:00 to 12:00. İlker İĞDELİ and Aykut İĞDELİ conducted the talk on the subject in the Conference Hall on the 1st floor of Block B. They presented a compilation of competitions they participated in as İğdeli Architecture Office. İlker İĞDELİ and Aykut İĞDELİ interpreted architecture competitions as a place where students can control, learn, develop, and evaluate their design processes. After the presentation, they answered various questions from the guests and students. The talk was attended by numerous guest faculty members and students.
At the end of the talk, Prof. Dr. Feride ÖNAL, the Head of the Department of Architecture and Vice Dean, expressed gratitude to İlker İĞDELİ and Aykut İĞDELİ for their participation and presented them with a plaque on behalf of the university.

Workshop
- “Designing, Sitting”
As part of the “Mimar Sinan Week Activities,” a workshop titled “Designing, Sitting” was held.
Organized jointly by the Departments of Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Environmental Design, within the scope of the “Mimar Sinan Week Activities,” the workshop took place on Friday, April 13, 2018, from 09:00 to 18:00, with the collective participation of students from the Departments of Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Environmental Design. The workshop was conducted in the Çamlık area of the Kartal Campus. Students were tasked with designing functional furniture elements for seating using materials such as cardboard, glue, cutting tools, etc. The workshop was guided by esteemed instructors and saw the participation of numerous students.
At the end of the workshop, Prof. Dr. Feride ÖNAL, the Head of the Department of Architecture and Vice Dean, Prof. Dr. Halil ÖNDER, and Asst. Prof. Begüm ERÇEVİK SÖNMEZ, the Head of the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, expressed their gratitude to the instructors who conducted the workshop and the students who participated, and presented them with certificates of appreciation and plaques on behalf of the university.
