Digital Game Design has become one of the increasingly popular sectors among entertainment and creative industries all over the world. In our country, there is a need to train innovative, creative, qualified and skilled game designers who can take a leading role in the field, in order to follow the developments in the field of industry and technology worldwide to produce works that can contribute to the world of game design globally and to create value in a global competitive environment.
The goal of the Digital Game Design Department is to meet the demand for skilled designers in the digital game industry who are inquisitive, have problem-solving and decision-making abilities with their strong technological background and can produce creative and innovative projects in the game industry. İstanbul Gedik University, Digital Game Design Department which will provide education in the direction of the need for creative, innovative ideas and design applications in the developing game industry, aims to train a student model that produces original works equipped with design-oriented, mathematical thinking, information technologies and creative theories and ideas for the Turkish and global game industry.
In recent years, the digital game industry, which is at the forefront of the creative industries in the global world and in Turkey, has become a sector that knows no borders, constantly renewing and transforming itself in a competitive environment, competing with world technologies. Our objective is to ensure that our students receive a multicultural and well equipped education as the Digital Game Design Department, which provides an interdisciplinary education due to its structure. We offer our students the universal principles of the rapidly developing digital game design profession, combined with new technologies, through our contemporary curriculum.
As a department, we aim to facilitate you to communicate with the sector and gain professional experience by enabling you to participate in various activities through national and international professional organizations. We want to guide you in developing yourselves professionally and encourage you to participate in student exchange programs, scientific and artistic events, and competitions.
Dear young people, we are starting out on a journey to educate well equipped and qualified graduates who read, research, take part in events, have high design skill, can write code, follow the world in the game industry except for the aim of training a good game designer.
