Today, it is essential for spaces to appeal to all senses, provide different experiences, and offer three-dimensional visuals that give each space a unique identity. At this point, the interior architect leaves their own mark on the space. Simultaneously, the production of safe, functional, and physically comfortable spaces holds significance in designs. As the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design at Istanbul Gedik University, Faculty of Architecture and Design, our aim is to educate interior architects who stand out with their design identity, are contemporary, research-oriented, open to criticism, and adaptable to technology and professional developments.
Our experienced faculty is supported by distinguished academics from renowned universities and professionals from the industry. While our students learn technical information through theoretical courses, they also develop in the fields of culture, art, and history, and acquire original design skills through design studios. We support our students’ international education programs to enable them to experience different design perspectives created by various cultures. Within our faculty, we organize knowledge-sharing days and product presentation seminars and emphasize on-site visits to construction sites and locations to enable our students to observe real-life applications.
With our contemporary curriculum and experienced faculty, along with our campuses in Kartal, Çamlık, and Halil Kaya Gedik on the Anatolian side of Istanbul, we welcome all young individuals who aspire to become fully equipped interior architects to Istanbul Gedik University.
