Welcome to Istanbul Gedik University, Faculty of Architecture and Design.
Our Faculty, which includes the Departments of Architecture, Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, Visual Communication Design, Gastronomy and Culinary Arts and Digital Game Design, has determined the primary goal of placing the concept of design at the center of education in all its dimensions.
While the basic conventions for design find a response in the educational environment, we expect you, our dear students, to create your designer identities through these basic conventions. Undoubtedly, efforts to create a designer identity have a dynamic structure with very different course contents, studio environments, and contributions of actors with proven competence in the sector.
Design is a process that includes heterogeneous and multidisciplinary relationships. At the same time, it necessitates the internalization of methodological research methods.
In the near and middle projections of the 21st century, in today’s conditions where the digital revolution is experienced, the reconstruction of learning styles, as well as representation and production styles, is rapidly taking its place on the agenda. It should be known that accepting all possible developments without ignoring them and without evaluating and examining them in every dimension is not a correct approach. In addition to the steps towards design with an analytical perspective and the creation of individual designer identities, the development of an interdisciplinary collective work culture is one of the priorities of our institution.
We want you to know that we will always be with you throughout your education and business life, to prepare you for life, to support you in reaching your goals and realizing your dreams, and that we will be with you throughout your education and business life, knowing that learning is a lifelong process.
