The Department of Management Information Systems (MIS) has gained importance in the light of these developments. Istanbul Gedik University Department of Management Information Systems aims to help organisations manage their information systems by combining information technologies and business science. The department has a comprehensive and qualified curriculum consisting of courses combining business management and computer sciences.
Courses such as Introduction to Business, Management and Organisation, Marketing Management, Organisational Behaviour and Strategic Management are examples of business
management courses. On the other hand, courses such as Algorithm Development, Introduction to Computer Programming, Object Oriented Programming, Data Structures and Algorithms, Database Management Systems, Visual Programming, Mobile Programming and Internet Programming are examples of computer science courses. In the curriculum of our department, considering the needs of the software industry, more emphasis has been given to the courses in the field of computer science. Thus, it is ensured that you are trained in accordance with the demands in the sector.
In addition, when you meet the necessary conditions, you can do a double major in different departments. In addition, with the 6 + 2 education model, you, our esteemed students, are given the opportunity to transform theoretical knowledge into practical knowledge with practical training in the workplace. This model supports your professions and forms the basis for your success in the business world.
As a result, when you graduate from the Department of Management Information Systems, you will be individuals who can solve problems, think analytically, adapt to technological developments, have skills such as management and communication, and you will be able to use the courses you have taken throughout your university life in different ways in the business world.
