MÜESSER GÖÇMEN
I graduated with the highest distinction from the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at Istanbul Gedik University’s Faculty of Engineering in 2022. During my undergraduate studies, under the guidance of my advisor, I received support from the TÜBİTAK 2209-A University Student Research Projects Support Program for a project titled “Production and Characterization of Akermanite/Chitosan Composite Coatings for Biodegradable Implant Applications.” I am currently continuing my educational journey in the Master’s program in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at Istanbul Gedik University’s Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences. Additionally, I am undergoing training in International Welding Engineering. During this period, I am also serving as a research fellow in the Istanbul Gedik University-Gedik Welding Inc. university-industry collaboration project titled “Development of Robotic Welding Applications for Domestic Armor Steels for Defense Industry,” which is supported by TÜBİTAK 1505. Thanks to the projects I have been involved in under the guidance of my advisors during my undergraduate and master’s studies, I continue to engage in academic research, participate in conferences and symposia to advance in the field of welding science, and write new projects. On this journey of progress and in adopting a disciplined work ethic, I extend my gratitude to the faculty members of the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at Istanbul Gedik University, whose academic achievements have served as an example for me. Thank you for your contributions.
TÜRKÜ SILA ÖZKAN
I graduated from the Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Department at Istanbul Gedik University in 2023. Throughout my undergraduate studies, I made a conscious effort to develop myself both academically and socially. During this time, I actively took advantage of the opportunities provided by my university.
From my first year, I joined the university’s Model Satellite Team, Team Nameless. Over the course of four years, I worked with the team, and we qualified for the finals of the Türksat Model Satellite Competition, in which hundreds of teams participate each year. In 2022, when I served as the team captain, we achieved great success by winning first place in the competition. This experience contributed significantly to my technical skills and teamwork abilities, laying a solid foundation for my engineering career.
In addition, through our department’s club, we organized various events and technical trips, which provided us with the opportunity to closely explore our profession. Furthermore, the project we carried out under the TUBITAK 2209-A Student Projects Support Program, titled “Plasma Formation in Liquid and Spectroscopic Analysis,” reinforced my experience in both academic and research fields.
The support and guidance of my professors were invaluable to me throughout this process. I would like to thank all my instructors for the contributions they made to both my academic and personal development.
I am currently working as an R&D engineer at Sarkuysan Elektrolitik Bakır Sanayi A.Ş. and continue to develop professionally.
