  •  Our TÜBİTAK 2209-A Student Projects were SupportedTÜBİTAK 2209-A projects applied by our Department of Nutrition and Dietetics students with their advisors were supported by TÜBİTAK. We congratulate our students and teachers and wish them continued success.
  • Nutrition and Dietetics Department Organized a Technical Field Trip

As part of their course on ‘Mass Feeding Systems,’ the 3rd-year students of the Nutrition and Dietetics department visited one of the leading companies in the field, Keklik Catering, to witness the practical application of the theoretical knowledge they had acquired. Our students had the opportunity to observe on-site the crucial steps involved in mass feeding systems, including procurement, storage, preparation, cooking, and distribution.

 

  • The event organized by the Nutrition and Dietetics Department within the scope of ‘World Diabetes Day’ on November 14th was held.

As part of World Diabetes Day on November 14th, an event organized by the Nutrition and Dietetics Department, with the valuable participation and contributions of the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. Tülay Ortabağ, took place at the Istanbul Gedik University Vocational School Conference Hall with a high attendance of students. Within the context of World Diabetes Day, Lecturer Çağla Pınarlı delivered a presentation titled ‘From Past to Present: Diabetes,’ and Expert Dietitian Taylan Kümeli presented on ‘Nutrition in Diabetes and Methods of Diabetes Prevention.

 

  • As part of the preference and introduction period, the Nutrition and Dietetics Department organized a Healthy Pasta Cooking Workshop. During the event, attended by our professors, prospective students, and parents, the cooked healthy pastas were served as refreshments.
  • In the 2021-2022 Academic Year, the Nutrition and Dietetics Department participated in the ‘Youth Perspective on Health Program’ with expert guests and carried out various publications. We extend our gratitude to our student İrem Özer for her participation and efforts in the program.

 

  • The Nutrition and Dietetics Department Organized an Event Towards Graduation

We provided students in the Nutrition and Dietetics program with insights into the topics they will encounter during clinical practice, accompanied by case studies led by our experienced professors in the field.

 

  • The Nutrition and Dietetics Department Organized a Technical Trip

Dr. Dietitian Burcu ATEŞ ÖZCAN shared her career development and experiences in clinical dietetics with our students.

 

  • June 6th, World Dietitian’s Day, was celebrated with enthusiasm.

Istanbul Gedik University Nutrition and Dietetics Club organized an event for World Dietitian’s Day on June 6th. Anthropometric measurements of the participants were taken by our students, and personalized dietary recommendations were provided based on the measurement results. Healthy snacks prepared by our students were also served to the participants at the event.

  • Our Event Titled ‘Being a Dietitian Abroad’ Took Place

We discussed the career opportunities for dietitians abroad with Dr. Dietitian Burcu YEŞİLKAYA. We extend our heartfelt thanks to our esteemed professor for enlightening us with her experiences.

  • Our Event Titled “How To Be A Good Dietitian?” Was Held

The event, which took place with the participation of Expert Dietitian Taylan KÜMELİ, discussed the history and present of the dietitian profession, the ethical principles of the profession, and career opportunities.

  • The ‘Pizza Workshop Event with TAYLAN KÜMELİ’ was successfully conducted.

In collaboration between the Nutrition and Dietetics and Child Development departments, Istanbul Gedik University’s Inclusive Life Center’s young chefs, with the participation of Expert Dietitian Taylan KÜMELİ, organized a Pizza Workshop in our school’s kitchen.

 

  • Our Event Titled ‘Becoming a Diabetes Dietitian’ Took Place

The event, which took place with the participation of Prof. Dr. M. Emel ALPHAN, discussed the topic of diabetes and explored the role and significance of the dietitian in approaching individuals with diabetes.

 

  • Our Event Titled ‘Becoming a Sports Dietitian’ Took Place

The role of nutrition experts in the field of sports nutrition was discussed with Dr. Dietitian Aylin HASBAY BÜYÜKKARAGÖZ.

  • INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON GASTRONOMY, NUTRITION AND DIETETICS-III CONGRESS BOOK HAS BEEN PUBLISHED

The congress titled INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE GASTRONOMY, NUTRITION AND DIETETICS-III was held  between 6-8 May 2022 with the participation of domestic and foreign universities, institutes and institutions.

The young chefs of Istanbul Gedik University’s Inclusive Life Center conducted a New Year Workshop together with Expert Dietitian Taylan KÜMELİ.

  • The Radio Program Titled ‘Effects of Microbiota on Health’ Was Listened to with Interest

In ‘Youth Perspective on Health,’ presented by İrem Özer, a third-year student from the Nutrition and Dietetics department, the effects of microbiota on health were discussed with Instructor Çağla PINARLI.

The extracurricular event titled ‘Current Nutritional Approaches in Diabetes,’ moderated by Lecturer Çağla PINARLI, took place with the participation of Expert Dietitian Nevin AVHAN. The event was watched with great interest.

 

  • June 6th Dietitian’s Day Was Celebrated on Radio GEDİK!

In the ‘Youth Perspective on Health’ program, organized by the 2nd-year students of Istanbul Gedik University Faculty of Health Sciences Nutrition and Dietetics Department, Berfin KARATEKE, Büşra SEVİNDİK, and Melike AKTAN participated. The theme of the program was ‘June 6th Dietitian’s Day,’ and discussions were held with our student colleagues about the past, present, and future of the profession. The program was moderated by Res. Asst. R. Melda ERDOĞAN.
