  • Comparative Law Application and Research Center

Istanbul Gedik University’s Comparative Law Application and Research Center was established with the regulation published in the Official Gazette on May 16, 2020*. The center operates under the direction of Prof. Dr. Gülsün Ayhan Aygörmez.

The Comparative Law Application and Research Center conducts comparative law studies and research, comparing legal systems, basic laws, judicial jurisprudence, and teachings of foreign countries with Turkish law to contribute to the scientific advancement of Turkish law. It aims to conduct comparative law studies and research that can shed light on the scientific progress of Turkish law and share the findings with the public. The center’s goal is to contribute to the resolution of legal problems with the support of comparative law in legal practices, studies, and research.

In this context, the center organizes national and international events, seminars, conferences, panels, and certified programs in accordance with national laws and principles, with the aim of informing the public.

The center also works to provide all kinds of tools and equipment necessary for the library archive arrangement.

Moreover, the center encourages those who wish to work in this field by undertaking projects and facilitating the execution of works related to the study of Comparative Law.

In its work, the center can collaborate with other organizations on Comparative Law.

Istanbul Gedik University’s Human Rights Application and Research Center was established with the regulation published in the Official Gazette on June 10, 2016*.

The center deals with the definition, protection, and development of human rights and conducts research on theoretical and practical applications with an interdisciplinary approach, focusing on national and international legislation and practices. The center engages in activities to conduct research on the results.

In this context, the center organizes national and international events, seminars, conferences, panels, and certified programs in accordance with national laws and principles, with the aim of informing the public.

The center also works to provide all kinds of tools and equipment necessary for the library archive arrangement.

Moreover, the center encourages those who wish to work in this field by undertaking projects and facilitating the execution of works related to the study of Human Rights.

Istanbul Gedik University’s European Union Application and Research Center was established with the regulation published in the Official Gazette on April 15, 2013*. The center operates under the direction of Prof. Dr. Haluk Günuğur.

The European Union Application and Research Center organizes scientific research, practice, education, documentation, competitions, and various national and international activities in the fields of the European Union and Europe, covering economic, social, political, legal, sports, and technological fields. Through these activities, the center aims to contribute to international cooperation, develop relations with the European Union countries, and foster political, economic, legal, scientific, socio-cultural, and sporting adaptation between Turkey and the European Union. If demanded, the center organizes events to assist relevant public and private organizations and collaborates with them.

The European Union Application and Research Center, as a center that examines legal studies, especially in the European Union Legal Order and the European Union, aims to conduct other research and studies in this field. In this context, the center organizes national and international events, seminars, conferences, panels, and certified programs in accordance with national laws and principles, with the aim of informing the public.
