Physical Education and Sports Sciences

Program Description

The Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, which envisions an integrated education, builds upon undergraduate studies and aims to develop scientific thinking, perceive the concepts and applications of sports education science, enhance knowledge and skills in understanding, synthesize field accumulations to create methods, and achieve expertise in all technical aspects through an interdisciplinary program. It covers Movement and Exercise Sciences, Physical Education and Sports Teaching, Psycho-social Areas in Sports, Physical Activity in Disabilities, Sports Management and Recreation, and Sports and Health.

Our Non-Thesis Master’s Program aims to train physical education and sports science professionals who are equipped with advanced scientific research skills, theoretical and applied knowledge, infused with contemporary technology, and conscious of the societal and individual values of the age.

Graduates of a 4-year undergraduate program in the field of Physical Education and Sports Sciences can apply to our program, as well as graduates from other fields with a 4-year undergraduate degree, provided they agree to take the “Scientific Preparation courses” at our Graduate Education Institute. Our graduates play an effective role in all types of sports organizations and work as specialists in sports centers. They are trained to become leaders in their field through the education provided.

Program Structure

The Non-Thesis Master’s Program in Physical Education and Sports Sciences consists of a total of 30 credits, including 10 courses and a term project. The term project is non-credit and is graded as either successful or unsuccessful. The duration of the non-thesis master’s program is a minimum of two and a maximum of three semesters. The duration calculations do not take the scientific preparation program into account. Periods during which the student does not register are included in the maximum duration
