Professor Dr. Zhiqiang Zou from Fudan University’s Middle East Studies Center Visited Istanbul Gedik University for a Roundtable Meeting on Türkiye’s Asia Policy.
On October 10, 2024, Istanbul Gedik University’s Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences and the Asia-Pacific Application and Research Center organized a roundtable meeting that featured Professor Dr. Zhiqiang Zou from Fudan University’s Institute of International Studies and Middle East Studies Center, alongside guest researcher Ye Zhangxu from Shanghai University. The event facilitated a productive discussion.
Participants included Istanbul Gedik University Vice Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences, Professor Şakir Dinçşahin, faculty members Professor Dr. Süha Atatüre and Dr. Selim Sezer, Asia-Pacific Center Director and Lecturer Sibel Karabel, and Deputy Erasmus Office Coordinator İlayda Özgen.
The event featured an in-depth discussion on the geopolitical developments impacting Turkey’s Asia policy. Professor Zou delivered a presentation on Turkey’s foreign policy towards Asia, specifically in the context of multilateral institutions such as BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Following an extensive Q&A session, the meeting concluded with a gift exchange between Istanbul Gedik University and Fudan University.
