2024/2025 Academic Year: Italy University Pre-Enrollment and Visa Process
For students planning to pursue university education or participate in Erasmus+ mobility programs in Italy, significant updates have been made to the pre-enrollment and visa processes for the 2024/2025 academic year.
Mandatory Pre-Enrollment via Universitaly Portal
University pre-enrollment applications will now be conducted online through the UNIVERSITALY portal. Applications will no longer be accepted in person at Embassies or Consulates.
Application Process
- Registration on the Universitaly System:
Students must access the UNIVERSITALY portal and complete their online registration. - Approval by the Host University:
Applications submitted through the portal will be forwarded to the student’s chosen Italian university. The host university will review the application, upload the acceptance letter, and complete the pre-enrollment process. - Preparing Documents for Visa Applications:
Once the pre-enrollment process is approved, students will receive a confirmation email from [email protected]. They must present this email along with the relevant documents from the Universitaly system when applying for a visa.
Visa Application
Visa applications for education or university purposes must be submitted through iDATA, the service provider authorized by the Italian Embassy. For details, visit: https://idata.com.tr/it/.
If a diploma equivalency document is required, students can apply for it through iDATA by submitting the necessary documents during the visa application process.

- Receiving an acceptance from an Italian university does not guarantee the issuance of a visa.
