An Unforgettable Erasmus+ Internship Experience in Romania by Hafiza Iqra

One of the students of Istanbul Gedik University, Hafiza Iqra, completed a two-month internship at Constantin Brâncuși University of Târgu Jiu in Romania as part of the Erasmus+ Student Traineeship Mobility program. Iqra described her experience with the following words:

“Stepping into the unknown is never easy. When I first set foot in Târgu Jiu, Romania, for my Erasmus Plus internship adventure at Constantin Brâncuși University, I was filled with self-doubt and uncertainty. But what started as a leap of faith turned into one of the most empowering experiences of my life.

This experience didn’t just teach me about a new country or a new culture—it taught me about myself. I learned how to adapt, how to communicate across cultures, and how to open my heart to diversity. Romania was no longer a destination, but a land of growth, discovery, and confidence.

I will always be grateful to Gedik University for believing in me and supporting me at every step of this journey. Without their trust, this vision would have remained just a dream.

I return not only with memories, but with a clearer direction, determination, and a renewed confidence in my potential.”
