TO THE US PRESIDENT’S STATEMENT ON ARMENIAN MEMORIAL DAY

CONDEMNATION

The so-called Armenian “genocide” allegations are an artificial issue that was brought up as an extension of the Eastern Question by the United States and European States in the last fifty years of the Ottoman Empire. Including 1915, the Ottomans did not commit any massacres to Armenians or other nations in any period of history. Finally, it is seen that the statements of US President Joe Biden regarding the Armenian Commemoration Day on April 24, 2021, regarding the massacre of Armenians, were written for political and imperial purposes that are not based on any legal basis and decisions. The use of the phrase”genocide” in this text is an unfortunate statement, we strongly condemn it. It is known that Armenians lived under Turkish rule for 800 years and were given religious, social, cultural and economic privileges, lived in peace, and that just politics played a significant role in preserving their identity for centuries. Archives and scientific research on the subject are full of concrete examples.

And yet, contrary to these claims, given the unscientific and deliberate attitudes and behaviors of those who make such unfounded claims today, it is sadly seen that the issue has taken the form of an American cruelty organized against the Turks on a moral and imperial scale. It is our hope that the US administration will take a constructive approach to restore the friendly relations between the two countries.
