Istanbul Gedik University Hosted the STAR Accreditation Award Ceremony
Istanbul Gedik University proudly hosted the Accreditation Award Ceremony organized by the Social and Human Sciences Accreditation and Rating Association (STAR). The ceremony took place at the Gedik Vocational School Conference Hall, bringing together 21 universities that prioritize quality in the fields of social and human sciences and have been accredited by STAR.
The event officially began with a moment of silence and the Turkish National Anthem, followed by the welcoming speech of Istanbul Gedik University Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kesik. Opening remarks continued with valuable speeches from Dr. İsmail Erkam Tüzgen, President of the STAR Board of Directors, and Prof. Dr. Ali Bayrakdaroğlu, Advisor to the Board. Prof. Dr. Bayrakdaroğlu shared key insights on the 2024–2025 accreditation process and future goals.
Accreditation Certificates Were Presented
One of the highlights of the program was the certificate presentation ceremony. STAR President Dr. İsmail Erkam Tüzgen and STAR Vice President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Turgay Geçer presented the accreditation certificates to the representatives of the accredited departments from 21 universities.
Our university took its place in this meaningful ceremony by being entitled to receive the full accreditation certificate for five years with the Department of International Trade and Finance.
Group Photo and Closing
The event continued at 4:00 PM with a group photo session, gathering all participants to commemorate the day. The ceremony concluded with a closing speech expressing gratitude to all attendees.
