VISIT FROM THE DELEGATION OF KAZAKHSTAN’S SATBAYEV UNIVERSITY TO ISTANBUL GEDIK UNIVERSITY

A four-member delegation from Satbayev University, based in Kazakhstan, visited Istanbul Gedik University on November 27, 2024. Representing Satbayev University, the delegation included Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Raissa USKENBAYEVA, Director of the Institute of Automation and Information Technology Dr. Zhyldyz KALPEYEVA, Director of the Digital Transformation Center Ms. Aizhan ANARTAYEVA, and Business Analyst Aliya BEISHENALY. The visit facilitated important discussions aimed at strengthening relations between the two institutions and exploring potential collaboration opportunities.

Representing Istanbul Gedik University, Vice-Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Şakir Dinçşahin, Rector’s Advisor and Quality and Strategy Coordinator Dr. Lecturer Mehmet Semih Özkan, Prof. Dr. Savaş Dilibal, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Haydar Şahin, and Dr. Ahmet Kubilay Atalay from the Department of Mechatronics Engineering; Dr. Aytaç Uğur Yerden and Dr. Bestem Esi from the Department of Industrial Engineering;

International Affairs and Erasmus Institutional Coordinator Lecturer Yücel Kamar and İlayda Önder attended the meeting.

The delegation was also received by our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kesik.

Following the initial meeting, the delegation visited the Software Office, where they met with software office staff, Tuğba Kılıç and Rümeysa Coşkun, and had the opportunity to examine the GEBIS system and its developed software modules.

During the discussions, ideas were exchanged on student and staff exchange programs, the development of joint degree programs, and the signing of an agreement within the scope of Erasmus. The focus was on projects that would deepen collaboration between Satbayev University and Istanbul Gedik University, with the hope that these discussions will lead to concrete partnerships in the near future.

We hope this significant visit will pave the way for projects that offer broader opportunities for our students and staff on the international stage.
