MEDIA AND COMMUNICATION PROGRAM ORGANIZED AN EVENT TITLED “INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION: TURKISH AND KOREAN CULTURE”

Media and Communication program Lecturer Elif Ünaldı and Lecturer Betül Gündoğan organized “Intercultural Communication: Korean Culture in Turkey” for the program students. Within the scope of the event, Soo-Yong Oh (Osman Bey), Secretary General of the Korean Veterans Memorial Society of Turkey, who has been living in Turkey for 25 years, and his family’s restaurant were visited.

In this event, Sude Akkuş, a second-year student of the Media and Communication program, interviewed Soo-Yong Oh (Mr. Osman) and collected detailed information about Korean culture. The event also provided our other programme students with the opportunity to learn about the values of a new culture, explore cultural practices and experience different tastes by learning the details about a different culture with their questions and having the opportunity to make comparisons in the context of intercultural similarities and differences.We would like to thank Mr. Osman and Ms. Lale for their smiling faces, hospitality and all the valuable information they provided.
