“Dance Inspired by Culture” Event Held at Halil Kaya Gedik Campus

Organized as an extracurricular activity, the “Dance Inspired by Culture” event was held on November 7, 2024, at Halil Kaya Gedik Campus Sports Hall by the Department of Physical Education and Sports Teaching. The event was part of the Erasmus+ Youth Project Inspire From Heritage Dance for Impact, conducted in partnership with Turkey, Latvia, and France.

Hosted by our university and co-organized with the Turkish project partner CORBIZ, the event aimed to transfer traditional dances and cultural heritage to young people and bring participants from different countries together.

During the event, creative educational content inspired by folk dances and the cultures of the project partners was introduced to the participants. They had the opportunity to explore Turkey’s cultural richness through dance and experience innovative materials developed as part of the project.

The strong support and hospitality provided by our university played a significant role in the success of the program. Additionally, Assistant Professor Fahimeh Hassani contributed greatly to the academic and content framework of the event, paving the way for a rich program that enhanced cultural interactions among young people.

This event, which emphasized the unifying power of dance and culture, was an important step in increasing young people’s cultural awareness and passing Europe’s rich heritage to future generations.
