Visit from Our Faculty to the Turkish National Olympic Committee’s Olympic House

Students from the Faculty of Sports Sciences at İstanbul Gedik University participated in the training program titled “International Management of Olympic Sports and TMOK” held at the Turkey National Olympic Committee (TMOK) Olympic House on December 20, 2024. The event provided valuable insights into sports management, offering students the opportunity to closely explore the international dimensions of the Olympic movement.

The presentation, conducted by TMOK Sports Director Y. Erdem Doğan, covered topics such as the activities of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and TMOK, the organization processes of the Olympic Games, the global scope of sports management, and the preparation stages of international sports organizations. The session contributed to expanding the students’ knowledge in sports management and supporting their career planning. Additionally, successful students in the competition held during the event were awarded Team Turkey-branded t-shirts.

Accompanied by Hülya Ünlü from the Department of Sports Management, students visited the “Paris 2024 Olympic Games” exhibition at the Olympic House before the training, where they had the chance to explore significant events in Olympic history. They also visited the Haluk San Olympic and Sports Library, where they examined a vast collection of local and foreign sources and gained detailed knowledge about past Olympic Games.

This training program helped students raise awareness about the management and coordination of international sports organizations, while also providing comprehensive insights into the workings of the Olympic movement in Turkey.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to the Turkey National Olympic Committee for offering this valuable training opportunity and to our students for their active participation.
