Assessment Training in Language Education at the School of Foreign Languages

As the School of Foreign Languages at Gedik University, we are pleased to announce the successful completion of a comprehensive training session on “Assessment in Language Education” held on September 19, 2024. This valuable session was organized in collaboration with National Geographic Publishing House and conducted by the expert Dr. Merve Selçuk.

National Geographic Publishing House organized this training as part of their ongoing support for our educational programs. Within the scope of our long-term partnership, the publishing house facilitated contact with Dr. Selçuk and arranged this special session.

During the training, Dr. Selçuk shared valuable insights into the fundamental principles and practices of assessment, focusing on exam preparation techniques for language learners. The session covered best practices in designing assessment tools, creating fair and accurate test items, and effectively evaluating student progress.

Our faculty members greatly benefited from this session, acquiring practical skills to enhance the quality of their assessment processes and to ensure a more consistent evaluation throughout the academic year. We believe that this training will significantly contribute to the improvement of our teaching methods and the academic success of our students.
